Friendly service

A little bit away from main (10min walk) beach, but really not too bad.

The owner and the staff are very friendly. The service is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. The big rooms with kitchen are ideal for people who want to cook for them selves.

There is notthing negative on the Red Rose

To be honest, nothing. This place was exceptionally expensive for the area and was far from the main street which is full with bars and restaurants. There were nicer places available at under half the price of what we paid at the Red Rose

The hotel was run-down and rooms did not have shower spigots etc... It is not within walking distance of anything. The advertisement mentioned 24hr check-out which was not available. The person who checked us in spoke very little English and we were informed that all gates/doors would be locked at 11:00. After arguing with this person, he conceded to leave the gate and a side door open. The area is also infested by mosquitos. All-in-all this hotel does not match the description and I am extremely disappointed that Booked.net would include such poorly described options on their website.

Our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until after 1am but the hotel was locked up. One of the staff got up and unlocked the place to let us in. The owner/staff were helpful (although not all the staff spoke much english). We had a problem with the aircon.during the night and the owner didn't hesitate to give us a discount. It is only about 15 mins from the airport so convenient for early/late flights, as Colombo is around 45 mins from the airport..

In your on-line information it states that included in the cost, the hotel will drive you to the airport. This is not the case, they will only do it for stays of 1 week or longer. This false advertising must be changed on the website. Also there was no drinkable water in the room on both nights we stayed, when we arrived late from the airport we had no access to drinking water and it was very hot.

The hotel had no record of our booking. There were a number of things advertised, which the hotel did not provide. These include: 1. single beds, 2. the ability to provide a third bed in the room, 3. a/c, although our room was meant to be a/c, we had a fan. 4. the hotel advert says that it provides free airport transfer, this is not true if you only stay for 1 night, we had to pay $15 for a taxi..

clean, close to airport, hotel staff nice, 200 meters from the beach. Good choice for transit

Nice and helpful owner, clean room, good value for money.

The Booked.net map is not showing the real location. The hotel is indeed farther away than indicated. Internet was extremely slow, but at least free.
